Welcome to the online home of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bonne Terre, Missouri! We are located at the corner of Summit & Oak in the town of Bonne Terre. St. Matthew’s is a congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). On Sundays, we have Divine Service at 9:00 a.m. and Bible class at 10:15 a.m. On Thursdays, we have Old Testament class at 10:00 a.m.

  1. Thanks for your post, and for reminding me of Bo Giertz and The Hammer of God. This book was a great inspiration to me when I read it years ago. I just may go back and read it again.

We recently left a ‘non-denominational’ church in Joplin, Missouri.The pastor (now thankfully retired) was not only a moral relativist, he loathed conservative Biblical doctrine and admitted to not believing Jesus as the one true path to salvation. He felt Islam was just as valid as Christianity. Many have left that church, because the church left us.
